- Slab selection and layout planning. Fabricators lay out seams and slab orientation to maximize aesthetic flow — especially important for dramatic veining or bookmatched slabs. For natural stone, the chosen slab is the finished look; for engineered surfaces, color consistency is verified across slabs.
- Precision cutting. Modern shops use Robo SawJet for accurate cutouts.
- Polishing and edge finishing. Finish and edge profile selection (eased, beveled, ogee, chamfer) are performed to match the design and function of the space.
- Quality inspection & protection. Fabrication includes inspection of surfaces, verified tolerance checks, and protective packing to prevent damage in transit. Fabrics and finish inspectors verify polish, seam fit and dimensional accuracy prior to shipment.

Installation workflow & responsibilities
- Pre-install checklist. Verify cabinet level/rigidity, confirm appliance clearances, and ensure plumbing/electrical readiness. Clear scheduling and assigning a lead installer reduces day-of confusion. Our team requires clear appointment ownership so clients know which consultant and installer they’ll meet.
- Countertop setting & leveling. Installers shim, level and secure the cabinet and set the counter to achieve uniform seams and proper overhangs. For heavy stones, appropriate blocking and reinforcement are required.
- Seam and finish work. Installers glue seams (epoxy for granite/quartz) and color match fillers; polished seams are finished during install and final polishing may be performed on site.
- Sink & appliance integration. Install undermount sinks, faucets and reconnect plumbing where agreed; template-to-install coordination (see Measurement & Templating) is critical so sink cutouts and appliance openings align perfectly.
- Punch-list & final walkthrough. A final homeowner walkthrough captures any remaining items and ensures satisfaction.

Measurement methods
- Traditional field templating. Fabricator techs use physical templates (plywood, hardboard) to capture exact cabinet and obstruction geometry.
- Digital templating (recommended for tight tolerances). Laser scanners, portable 3D measuring systems and CAD/CAM templating produce digital templates that feed directly to robotic fabrication, improving accuracy and reducing rework. Digital templating is increasingly the industry standard for complex islands, integrated sinks and tight tolerances.
- Template vs. as-built verification. After measurement, a fabricator confirms kitchen plan against site conditions (appliance tolerances, trim differences, floor leveling) and updates templates accordingly.

- Site measure or plan review. We measure or verify client-provided drawings, noting any on-site variances that affect cabinet/counterfit.
- Template production. We produce a shop-ready template (digital or physical) with marked seam locations, sink/cooktop cutouts and edge profiles.

- Seam rework. Poorly aligned or deteriorated seams can be reglued, color-filled and re-polished.
- Scratch & etch repair. Marble and some natural stones may be honed and repolished to remove etches and scratches; in engineered surfaces, deeper abrasions can sometimes be leveled and refinished.

- Quartz / Cambria: Wipe with mild soap or manufacturer stone cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged high heat directly on the surface. Cambria and other quartz brands publish care guides with warranty conditions.
- Granite: Clean with mild soap; reseal per fabricator recommendation. Periodic resurfacing can restore luster and performance.
